MegaPixel Restore (Work in Progress)

** Warning: CRT's contain lethal voltages. Be aware and cautious. If in doubt don't do it. **

Tools:

Philips screwdriver
nonconductive CRT adjustment tools
Flat screwdriver with grounding clip


Disassembly Steps:
    1) Leave the MegaPixel unpowered and unplugged

    2) Remove the 4 screws on the back of the MegaPixel. Then pull back on the back plastic cover to remove.


    3) The Adjustment pots should now be visible. The recommended way to adjust the pots is with nonconductive adjustment tools in front of a mirror.

V.Lin	Adjusts the aspect ratio
Dyn Focus	Adjust the focus on the edges of the screen
V.Cent	Sets vertical display position
Cutoff	Adjusts black level
Focus	Sets primary focus	Square tool ajustment
White Level	Adjusts white level
Width	Adjusts horizontal size

    4) The CRT anode is on the right side. For N4000 monitors there is an access panel on the right side. For N4000A monitors remove the whole top section. 

    5) Clip the grounding clip attached to the flat head screwdriver to the metal frame. Then place the screwdriver under the suction cup of the anode to discharge the CRT. Try to remove the anode gently with the screwdriver.



    6) It is now safe to remove all of the screws around the metal cage. Be careful of the connector attached to the CRT gun. Gently pull back to release. It may take some effort.

    7) The Logic and soundboards are now accessible.




Capacitor List (There can be differences here. I recommend getting extra 22uF 50V caps as these are +/- a few of these depending on the revision):
